In Needham, between Needham Center and Needham Heights, is Memorial Park, a lighted park with baseball and football fields that is usually used by Needham High School, but other, private schools also use the fields.
the Park is located near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Rosemary Street. There is a parking lot there, but Rosemary Street is One Way from Webster Street which runs parallel to Highland Avenue on the other side of the high school. For the person not familiar with the area, it may be best to park in the Sudbury Farms super market parking lot on Highland Avenue, then cross the street into the park from there.
Memorial Park is an up-to-date athletic field complex, which was completely redone in 2009. The football fields now have artificial turf, with ground up tire rubber mixed in to provide that cushion. The lights were installed during construction, and now fully light not only the football field, but also the baseball fields, as well. The football fields make use of the slope of the hill on one side of the hill for an audience, and they have stands for football on the other side.
Needham High School is known as the Rockets. The school has over 1000 students and is very competitive when it comes to sports.
