This artist took a different approach, and carved the inside of the log. One side shows an eagle with a salmon, and the other side is a bear. Eagles, salmon and bears are all plentiful on Vancouver Island. This carving was done as part of the annual "Transformations on the Shore" carving contest, which takes place at the end of June.
