"Here, Wright abandons the more picturesque and traditional styles of the day, substituting his own strongly geometric style along with the decorative richness of his mentor and former employer, Louis Sullivan. The decorative frieze was executed by sculptor Richard Bock. This building was designed for Isidore H. Heller, a meatpacker."
The Heller House was designated a Chicago Landmark on September 15, 1971, and added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 16, 1972. On 18 August 2004, the U.S. Department of the Interior designated the house a National Historic Landmark.
It is still in use as a private residence.
