This very historic former U.S. Air Force base (now an Air Reserve base) was a pilot training site in World War I and later saw such famed aviators as Carl Spaatz and Hap Arnold, and was also important during and after World War II. It was transferred from the Air Force to the Air Force Reserve in 1996. The museum occupies a relative small corner of the base but sill contains dozens of aircraft, ranging from huge Stratotankers and B-52 bombers to tiny fighter planes and unmanned drones you could carry home in your car (although I think the FBI would have a few questions to ask you about that). The indoors part of the museum also includes many military artifacts (uniforms, maps, U.S. and enemy propaganda, radar machines, rations, etc.) from World War I onward, and even an exhibit about Soviet Cosmonauts.
