This statue of Christopher Columbus is located in Walla Walla, Washington in front of the Walla Walla County Courthouse. The statue was a gift to the City of Walla Walla in 1911 by the Italian Community. The following text is at the base of the statue. Dedicated to Christopher Columbus, Italy’s illustrious son who gave to the world a continent. We shall be inclined to pronounce the voyage that led the way to this new world as the most epoch making event of all that have occurred since the birth of Christ. Erected by his admiring countrymen the 12th day of October A.D. 1911. On the base on the back side is a listing of the contributors.
