The Baptist Church in Glasgow has its origin with its organization in 1820 in Old Chariton. In 1827 it was moved to Monticello, then in 1851 to Glasgow. Their first church in Glasgow was built 1861 diagonally across the street from the current building. In 1866 this building was sold to the Presbyterians who used the building until 1975 and now serves as the Glasgow Community Museum. The present building, in a Gothic Revival style was built at a cost of $12,000 and was dedicated in 1871. The church building continues to serve its active congregation.
