The Alabama State Docks system includes 11 strategically located inland ports along its navigable rivers. Seven of these operate grain elevators. The Phenix City Dock is the uppermost terminal on the Chattahoochee River and is located at mile 153 on the Chattahoochee River, near Columbus, Georgia. This Dock operates the 426,160 bushel grain elevator.

Construction of the grain elevator, which consists of four concrete silos with 12 interstices and 2 steel tanks, was completed in the early 1970s. The wharf has the capacity for mooring six barges.

The posted coords are for the Docks gate closest to the grain elevator. A "No Trespassing" sign prohibits entry beyond this point.
