This is a very impressive yet somber Memorial.

This memorial is a large and well thought out memorial. It is made of black granite.
In the very center of the memorial is a huge M-16 with fixed bayonet pointing to the ground, with boots around the rifle muzzle. On top of the rifle butt is a soldier's helmet.
Next is a circular design with small upright blocks of black granite pillars, representing all branches of the military. On the small plaza that surrounds the memorial is a gray granite walkway where vetereans names are engraved into individual stones. Equally spaced around the small plaza are black granite benches.
It is all surrounded by the flags from all the services on the outer perimeter.
This is a really nice place to have visited.

In recognition of the men and women who have served our country in peace and war. As they pass to the sound of distant drums and the muted bugle to their final muster. Ler us not forget their service and sacrifice to this great nation. May God bless the United States of America, and all who continue to serve her.

This is a well kept area. It sits on the east side of the Douglas County Courthouse. It can be reach by anyone who visits the memorial.
