Formaly this building was the radar station was situated high on the hill above Port Jackson. It is thought to be built by the New Zealand Navy where it could survey the entrances to the Hauraki Gulf. After World War 2 the Port Jackson Radar Station was no longer needed. In 1946 it was disassembled and taken to Colville to build the Colville General Store. In 1978 the store was purchased and run as a co operative with it's main aim to supply enviromenticaly friendly, organic and health foods to the public. Here you will find a large variety of herbs, grains and spices. Fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables grown localy are for sale. The store is open from 8.30am to 5pm 7 days a week.
