The first lighthouse on this site was built in 1913. It consisted of a two story house with a lantern room centered on the roof.

In 1966, the lighthouse was automated and instead of continuing to maintain the vacant house, a new 44-foot high concrete tower was built in 1967. Today's light exhibits a three-second flash followed by an eclipse of two seconds every five seconds.
