The Grammar School was established in Kolin in 1872, but for about eighty years it was located in other building. The building with the Clock Tower was built in 1924 as a new Commercial Academy. It was constructed according to the desing of architects Jan Mayer and Oldrich Liska (pupils of famous Czech architect Jan Kotera). In 1953 the Commercial Academy and Grammar School exchanged their building and from this time the Grammar School is here.
