The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore features works of self-taught artists that have never had formal art training. Sometimes whimsical, sometimes deeply thought provoking, sometimes puzzling - the art in this museum is certainly worth seeing.
The entrance to the museum faces a courtyard and so you have to walk around the building to enter. Sunlight plays with the glass pieces as you pass by. It is stunning and a preview of how the art to be found inside "interacts" with the viewer.
In researching for this post, I learned that this mosaic is the work of several artists and was part of a community-based art project. More info at link below.
Specific visit requirements:
This mosaic is on the exterior of the museum and doesn't require that you enter - but it is worth a visit! You will not be disappointed.
