TALLEST Pyramid in the World - Transamerica Pyramid - San Francisco, CA - Superlatives on Waymarking.com

In the late 60s, TransAmerica Insurance had decided that they had outgrown their old two story flatiron headquarters. The wish for a signature building eventually led them to this pyramid, which has since become one of the most identifiable buildings in the world. Since then TransAmerica has been taken over and had the headquarters moved, but the current owners feel that retaining the original name adds to the identity of the building. At 853 feet this is almost twice the height of the Great Pyramid in Egypt, the previous record holder.
