Yep, see our coins being made! I have had the pleasure of providing chair massage inside the Mint for Employee Health Day many years ago. It was interesting getting my aluminum massage chair in the Mint because everyone and everything must go through a metal detector. Employees are not allowed to have coins in their pockets. While I had previously gone on the public tour, it was quite interesting to speak with the employees about other functions of the mint. I have a mild interest in numismatics, I greatly enjoyed chatting with the ladies who examine and create the dies for the coins and proof coins for proof sets.

Reservations are encouraged for the free tour. Visit the website (link below) to make your reservation. There are 'stand-by' tickets, but they are limited. You must arrive 15 minutes PRIOR to the tour. Late arrivals will not be allowed on the tour. There are restrictions about items that may be brought into the mint. These include:

* Purses, Handbags
* Fanny packs, diaper bags, book bags, backpacks
* Packages of any type
* Strollers
* Food or beverages of any kind
* Tobacco products
* Personal grooming items (makeup, hair brush or comb, lip or hand lotions, etc.)
* Any pointed objects (pens, knitting needles, umbrellas, etc.)
* Mace, or aerosol containers
* Guns, or ammunition
* Fireworks
* Electric stun guns
* Martial arts weapons/devices
* Knives of any size
* Other items may also be restricted

Lockers are NOT available, so make plans prior to your arrival to eliminate restricted items. All necessary medications must be identified, and will remain in the custody of an adult chaperone for the entire tour. The United States Mint reserves the right to deny access to anyone at any time; in addition, members of the public wishing to tour the facility may be subject to search by the United States Mint Police. All visitors are required to enter through a metal detector.

The United States Mint at Denver is wheelchair accessible.

Sign language interpreters are available by special arrangement. Please call (303) 405-4759 for more information.

While the requirements for this tour may sound a bit overwhelming, the tour is well worth the effort!
