A third order bench mark at 120.6100m above Newlyn datum on the east wall of a former pub (The Mermaid) and, more recently, restaurant (The President). The bracket has been painted over - hence the designation "slightly damaged". The building itself has been damaged by fire so is likely to be re-vamped or redeveloped at some point. Hopefully the bracket will survive. Despite averaging the co-ords on my Oregon 300, the location seem quite a way off on googlemaps. I suggest you rely on the photo for the precise location of the bracket.
The waymark is right at the heart of Birmingham's famous "Balti triangle" and there are many excellent restaurants in the vicinity.
This waymark is set up as part of mumbo jumbo's "Project Explorer 220", an attempt to visit / photograph / list all 55 brackets, bolts and flush brackets in the area covered by OS map Explorer 220 (which is mj's "patch"). This may take a while as I try to do most of my local waymarking and geocaching by bicycle!
