On the water pump is a plaque which reads:

'Renovated and presented by Burt Ardwick Ltd to Upton Heritage Centre on 50th April 1987.'

The pump is a black design with a long handle and brickwork around the base.

The area is now used as the outside seating for the Peacock Tearooms.
