Although the old Ranchero Motel & Cafe was last in its prime during the heyday of Route 66, the tiki head named Gigantus Headicus is actually a modern creation.

The old Ranchero Motel, has also been called the Kozy Corner Trailer Court and the "place with the Tiki Head", but with its googie architecture and kitchy style, this roadside stop will always be a part of Route 66 history. Owner Gregg Arnold created the tiki head around 2004 out of wood, metal and stucco, hopefully encouraging people to stop at the convenience store there now.
