Description from the Inventory page:
Young, male, Confederate soldier standing at rest position. His proper left leg is slightly forward with bent knee. In his proper left hand he holds the barrel of a bayoneted rifle, with the stock butt resting behind his proper left foot. His proper right hand rests on his proper right hip and holds his hat.

On each of the four sides of middle section of base are bronze tablets listing the names of soldiers, listed by state and regiment, who were buried in the University of Virginia Cemetery.
