This is the second oldest Black Oak in NJ, a town filled with trees well over 300 years old. A plaque on the tree explains it all. UPDATE: This tree was felled by a storm on June 3, 2020. See comments below.

This tree is located to the right of 265 Lake Street. It is a very out of the way location and one would never find this except for sheer luck, or if you are a waymarker. I found it only because I was exploring an area on the outside fringe of the historic district I had yet to explore.
There is of course an historic maker attached to the tree. The marker reads
