The large circular sink behind the Citadel pueblo was created when acidic rainwater seeped through cracks in the surface of the ground. This rainwater eventually dissolved the limestone below the surface causing anything above it to collapse. The sink appears to be an estimated 600' in diameter.

The sink is located behind a small bluff. A paved trail leads from the parking area around behind the bluff to the sink.
