This orentation table is commemerative of Major Mitchell, who named, Mount Zero when he was the first European to climb it on 20th July, 1836 in order to accuretly survey the route of his 'Australia Felix' exploration.
This is one of the best short bush walks I have been on, it's definetly worth the visit.
The track to the summit is ever changing, challenging but not difficult, the views from the summit of the Grampian Ranges and Wimmera Plains are awe inspiring.
The walking track is marked with yellow arrows painted on the rock surface to guide you when the track is not visible.
