The last sundial Alexei Pace showed us on our sundial tour of Malta was his first public sundial on the south facing wall of a residence called Villa Santa Rosa. He described coming here on his bicycle as a teenager to paint this sundial. It is a fine vertical declining sundial showing the solstice declination lines and hour lines for daylight savings time. It is signed "A Pace" and dated "1997". Now Alexei is a successful architect with a growing family and officer of the Malta Astronomical Society. Perhaps he will have more opportunities to create sundials. Thank you Alexei for welcoming us to Malta and introducing us to Maltese sundials as part of this independent island nation’s patrimony.
