This elegant sculpture, depicting an 1870's millworker and her son, is the work of artist Christopher Gowell (visit link) The sculpture serves as the main feature in Nashua's Le Parc de Notre Renaissance Françaiseto, a small park located between Water Street and the Nashua River.

The park itself is dedicated to French-Canadian immigrants who settled in the area in the 1800s and worked tirelessly in Nashua's textile mills. Appropriately, the old Nashua Manufacturing Company mill building (now Clocktower Place apartments) (visit link) serves as the backdrop for the statue.
