DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1927 (EOH) TRAVERSE STATION AND BENCH MARK IS ON SW CORNER OF SPRING AND KIMBALL STREETS, 4.63 FEET S TO WATER STOP, 7.94 FEET S TO NAIL IN TELEGRAPH POLE ON SPRING STREET, 20.75 FEET W TO NAIL IN 12-INCH TREE, 36.17 FEET N TO CENTER OF STORM-WATER DRAIN ON NW CORNER OF SPRING AND KIMBALL STREETS, 29.18 FEET NE TO CENTER OF TOP OF MANHOLE AT INTERSECTION OF SPRING AND KIMBALL STREETS. STATION MARK IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN CONCRETE CYLINDER, 5 FEET LONG, 10 INCHES IN DIAMETER AT THE TOP, 18 INCHES IN DIAMETER AT THE BASE. CAST-IRON COVER OVER TOP OF MARK.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1974 AT ATLANTA. THE MARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION AT SPRING STREET NW AND PONCE DE LEON AVENUE NW IN ATLANTA. IT IS 29.5 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF INTERSECTION, 23.5 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER OF SPRING STREET NW AND 19 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF A STREET TO THE WEST. THE DISK IS SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE MONUMENT THAT IS SET 12-INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE SIDEWALK AND UNDER A 12-INCH IRON MANHOLE COVER WITH USC AND GS EMBOSSED ON THE TOP.
