Sawmiller’s Reserve is now a place for rest and reflection. On the curved stone wall, facing the harbour, a plaque marks the opening of
Sawmiller’s Reserve on the site of the old Eaton’s timber yard bought by North Sydney Council for public recreation.
The old timber mill c1880 was originally sited near the North Sydney Railway Station but was relocated to this waterfront area where it remained until 1982.
The Reserve retains some relics from the former mill.
