The state of Michigan Historic Preservation website at (visit link) tells us:

"The former Methodist Episcopal Church Parsonage is a two-story end-gabled, Greek Revival structure with a one-and-one-half-story rear wing. The detailing includes a triangular gable "fanlight", and a full entablature decorated with dentil and guttae bands. The highly stylized classical porch, and scalloped edged eavesboard trim indicate the structures late date in the Greek Revival style.

The Methodist Episcopal Church has gained significance by being one of the few remaining Greek Revival structures in Ann Arbor. The relatively rich and fussy exterior detailing is indicative of the transition from classical to picturesque styles that was taking place in Ann Arbor and elsewhere in the 1850s. The building was erected under the Reverend Seth Reed a leader among the early Michigan Methodists."
