The bird's eye jazz club was founded in 1994 and moved to its current location in 1999. They present live music five evennings a week. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are devoted to (well-known) local, national and international bands, whereas Tuesday and Wednesday are reserved for local small groups. During the summer months - June, july and August - there is usually one band from Tuesday through Saturday.

The location itself is special. The entrance is in a big wall that was part of the city wall once. This part was an abbey in the 12th century, later it was owned by the city and turned into a prison from 1821 - 1995. The jazz club is in fact located in the former gym of that prison.
