Built in 1942 to mount four 3.7inch calibre anti-aircraft artillery pieces after enemy planes had been spotted in New Zealand's airspace and waters. There was also a command post, the whole emplacement being one of four built on strategic high points around Wellington.

They were manned by the 104th HAA Battery of the NZ Army from 1943 to 1944 but were never fired.
