Mlýn byl postaven v r. 1873, jako klasický mlýn holandského typu, s vetrným kolem o ctyrech lopatách a otocnou strechou. Po nekolika letech provozu byl postižen vetrnou smrští, která prispela k jeho modernizaci a z dnešního pohledu k jedinecnosti.
V letech 1882 až 1884, puvodní majitel a stavitel mlýna, Cyril Wágner, instaloval místo klasického vetrného kola tzv. Halladayovu turbínu, nazvanou podle svého vynálezce, konstruktéra, amerického farmáre Daniela Halladaye. Kolo turbíny je tvoreno vencem stavitelných žaluzií neboli lopatek, ovladatelných táhly, umožnujícími vhodný náklon ve smeru vetru i automaticky. Kolo udržovalo ve správném smeru dvojité kormidlo. Použitím tohoto vynálezu semlel mlýn až dvojnásobek obilí.
Turbína se dnes otácí ve výšce 16 m nad zemí, má prumer 10 m a váží asi 2 tuny. Halladayova turbína je ojedinelá nejen u nás, ale i v Evrope. V americkém Texasu bylo velké množství techto turbín, které nepohánely mlýny, ale pily a vodní cerpadla.
Mlýn je technická památka navržená na zarazení mezi národní kulturní památky a do seznamu UNESCO.
Mlýn se nachází na Drahanské vrchovine, mezi Vyškovem a Blanskem, nedaleko propasti Macocha, v obci Ruprechtov.

The windmill was built in 1873 as a classical Dutch-type windmill with four blade wheel and pivoting roof. After a few years of service it suffered a damage in windstorm, resulting in its modernisation and uniqueness from today's point of view.
To replace the original design, Cyril Wágner the owner and builder installed in 1882 thru 1884 Halladay turbine, named after its inventor and design engeneer, American farmer Daniel Halladay. The runner consists of a chain of operable vanes controlled by rods, enabling them to be tilted as required automatically according to the wind. Duble tail vane maintained the wheel at the right course. Using this invention, the mill could double its output in corn processing.
The turbine with a diameter of 10 meters, weighing approximatelly 2 tons revolves at about 16 meters above the ground.
Halladay turbine which is unique here as well as in Europe used to be employed in great numbers in Texas, powering sawmills and waterpumps. Located at Drahanska highlands in between towns of Vyskov and Blansko in the village of Ruprechtov, the windmill is a technical monument proposed for inclusion in National as well as UNESCO List of Monuments.

Die Mühle wurde 1873 als eine klassische Mühle von einem Holländer Typ mit einem Windrad mit vier Schaufeln und einem drehbaren Dach gebaut. Nach ein paar Jahren wurde sie von einem Windsturm betroffen, der jedoch zur Modernisierung und dadurch auch aus der heutigen Sicht zur Einmaligkeit der Mühle beigetragen hat.
In den Jahren 1882 bis 1884 installierte der damalige Besitzer und Baumeister der Mühle, Cyril Wágner, statt des klassischen Windrades die s.g. Hallady-Turbine, die nach ihrem Erfinder, dem amerikanischen Farmer Daniel Halladay benannt wurde. Das Windrad dieser Turbine war mit einem Kranz von stellbaren Jalousien oder Schaufeln, die mit Zügen betätigt wurden und auch automatisch die richtige Stellung zum Wind ermöglichten, bestückt. Das Rad wurde von einem doppelten Steuer in der richtigen Richtung gehalten. Durch diese Erfindung war es möglich, eine doppelte Menge von Getreide zu mahlen.
Die Turbine dreht sich heute 16 Meter über dem Boden, hat einen Durchmesser von 10 Meter und wiegt ca. 2 Tonnen.
Die Halladay-Turbine ist eine Rarität nicht nur in der Tschechischen Republik, sondern auch in Europa. In Texas (USA) gab es viele von diesen Turbinen, die nicht Mühlen, sondern Sägen und Wasserpumpen angetrieben haben.
Die Mühle ist ein technisches Denkmal, das zur Einreihung in das Verzeichnis der nationalen Kulturdenkmäler und auch in das Verzeichnis der UNESCO vorgeschlagen ist. Die Mühle befindet sich in der Gemeinde Ruprechtov auf der Drahanská Hochebene, zwischen Vyškov und Blansko, nicht weit von der Schlucht Macocha entfernt.
