The Tophouse Hotel was built in 1817 from cob by Ned James and has been fully restored to its former glory. Now the building is classed category "A" under the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. It lays claim to having the smallest bar in New Zealand and probably the world. Due to tragic events in the past, apparently a resident ghost will be sharing the accommodation. Situated on a 700 acre farm this secluded B & B has amazing views of the mountains, sunrises and sunsets.
