If you want to try caving, visit the Krasnohorska Cave in the East-Slovakian region Gemer near the Roznava town. There is any artificial lightening, any electricity, only narrow path, benches over stream and lake. You can move only with ropes in some parts of cave. You need special cave equipment - it is possible to get it in the seat of Speleologická vodcovská služba (Speleologic guide service) in Pension Jozefina in Krasnohorska Dlha Luka village. Visiting cave is possible only with a spelelogists from the guide service. The children under eight years can also visit the Cave...
The Krásnohorská Cave (Krásnohorská jaskyna), situated in the Slovakian Karst National Park, are a part of "Caves of Aggtelek Karst and Slovak Karst" UNESCO World heritage site. Tourists can visit only six of caves in this area, including the Krásnohorská Cave. The other caves (more than 800) are not accessible for tourists.
The visit of the Hall of Giants is a beautiful experience. The dripstone named after the Roznava cavers is 32.6 m high and it is one of the biggest sintro column in the world. The cave is open during the whole year, except March. The season is from June 15th till September 15th. There are regular admissions during the season, 3 admissions every day for maximum 10 persons. We recommend to arrange it in advance. It is necessary to do it in out-of-season period as well.
