Hagley Park is a focal point for the city of Christchurch and has been since as far back as the 1850’s. It’s a central city park on a grand scale, a beautiful sight all year round but especially so during autumn and as the flowers blossom in spring.

At 160 hectares, Hagley Park is one of the largest inner city parks in the world.
This English inspired park was gifted to the people of Christchurch in the 1850s. It is renowned for its extensive area of 165 hectares (407 acres), its wide-open spaces and mature woodlands.
A popular local recreation ground, activities in the park include rugby, cricket, tennis, netball, jogging, cycling and golf.
The park's two lakes are popular with model boat enthusiasts, whilst others enjoy punting and canoeing on the Avon River.
Bordered by the Botanic Gardens, Hagley Park is also known for its beautiful walkways - bordered by towering trees and bright blooms.
In Spring the daffodils and cherry blossoms in Hagley Park are a well-known tourist attraction.
