DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1968 AT ROME. AT ROME, NEAR THE WEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF EAST FIRST STREET AND EAST FOURTH AVENUE, AT THE FOURTH AVENUE ENTRANCE TO THE POST OFFICE, SET VERTICALLY IN THE GRANITE CAP ON TOP OF THE BRICK WALL ALONG THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF THE STEPS LEADING TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE POST OFFICE, 53 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST CURB OF THE STREET, 16 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CURB OF THE AVENUE, 4.3 FEET ABOVE THE SIDEWALK AND ABOUT 4 FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE AVENUE.
