Originally formed as a mission church, St. Louis was established as a true parish in 1965. Located in the small community of Bayou Blue between Houma and Thibodaux.

St. Louis is located in a sparsly populated area of Terrebonne Parish, north of Houma. Church and grounds in fine condition. Featured a large cemetery, and a Parish hall. Destroyed in 1926 by a storm, the main portion of the present building was built in 1928 and totally renovated in 1981.
