In Cambridge, in the commercial district called Harvard Square, there is the Cambridge Visitor's Information Center. This cylindrical kiosk is barely large enough for one person to staff. But, someone is there to provide help for the tourist either looking for advice on what to do, directions to a specific location, or purchacing tickets to shows.
The kiosk is provided by the Cambridge Office for Tourism. There is a plaque with sponsors who rebuilt the kiosk.
If you are looking for snacks, you won't find them there. However, there is the Out of Town News Newstand that provides quick food and drink, and there are 'scads' of eating establishments all around. Rest Rooms, let the person in the booth tell you where there are public restrooms.
