Long Description:
This park is located in south-east Denver and is dedicated to the victims of Babi Yar and all those who have lost their lives due to genocide. The engraving on the main memorial reads:

(Left Stone)
In Memoriam to the Two Hundred Thousand Victims Who Died, Babi Yar, Kiev, Ukraine, USSR
September 29, 1941 - November 6, 1943
The Majority Jews with Ukranians and Others
[Ukrainian] Babi Yar ETERNAL MEMORY all the victims of terror"

(Right Stone)
"Decades Ago.......
Still the Aching Sadness
People Who Loved
Forever Silenced by Nazi Terror
Sharing Eternally........
The Mystic Number.........Six Million
A holocaust for the Jews of Europe
A tragedy for all humanity

This memorial has a narration explaining both Babi Yar and genocide and offering hope for the future. I have posted a video at (visit link) of the narration.

A second memorial is at N39 40.117, W104 52.059, just north of the main setting. The inscription on the disk in the middle of the circle reads:

"Below this marker is located a capsule containing earth for the Babi Yar ravine, Kiev, Ukraine, U.S.S.R. Presented to the Babi Yar Park Foundation by Colorado Senator John R. Bermingham" Inscriptions and dedication are engraved in stone around this capsule.

A third piece of this park is a pedestrian bridge to the north-west (N39 40.186, W104 52.115) that replicates the cattle cars in which the victims were transported to the camps. The bridge is black with tall sides. There are two small slots on each side to allow one to replicate the view the victims had while being transported to the camps. I find this to be a gut-wrenching piece. The inscription on the stone reads:

"Freedom or Power - The Eternal Struggle
Bridges or Cattle Cars - Choose!
Me...But You To - The Eternal Dilemma
Before and After All - The Rock

Rabbi Raymond A. Zwern, Inscription"

Parking is at N39 40.069, W104 52.084. A video of photographs during WWII at Babi Yar may be found at (visit link)
