Melaka - Invaded by the Portuguese in 1511, ending decades of Malay Sultanate rule. Later, circa 1600, the Dutch invaded the rich sea port of Melaka ending the Portuguese rule.
Not to be out done, the British then got into the act and wrestled Melaka from the Dutch, making Melaka part of the British Straits Settlements.
