This library was built using a $15,000 grant in 1910. The building was built in in 1912 for Shurtleff College, a Baptist College founded in 1827. The library was used by Shurtleff College until 1957 when the college closed and the facilities became part of Southern Illinois University. The building is now the Biomedical Library for the SIU School of Dental Medicine.
