In Attleborough, on the grounds of the National Shrine of the Lady of Salette, is a pathway up a slope with stations of the cross mixed with statues that represent the story of the appearance of Mary to two shepherd children in La Salette, France.

This station is located to the right of the Welcome Center, when facing it, and behind a statue and plaza area. There is a sign that states that this called the Garden of the Apparition of Our Lady of La Salette. Another sign in the island by one of the statues discusses the story of the appearance of Mary to the children. The text of this sign is as follows:

"Garden of the Apparition

The Virgin Mary appeared to two children (Melanie and Maximus) at La Salette in the French Alps on September 19, 1846. This is a repreentation of that event. Notice the two children in the middle of the hill looking down to where they first saw Mary sitting and weeping. She stood, called to them. 'Come near, my children, do not be afraid' and advanced a few steps to where she is seen speaking to them. At the end of their discourse, she climbed the slope in the pattern you see traced out by the crosses and steps. At the top of the hill, she rose off the ground, stopped and spoke her final words. "Make this known to all my people." Then she looked up stopped crying and disappeared."

There are three sets of statues of Mary and the children. the first is Mary sitting and crying, with the children about halfway up the hill looking down at her. The second is of her with the chilren. the third, at the top of the hill, is Mary with the children about to rise skyward. Between these statues are steps and a set of crosses. The crosses have a bronze circle embedded with a scene of the crucifiction.
