In Attleboro, in the Welcome Center for The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, are three stained glass windows mounted facing the lobby area of the center.
These windows relate the story of the appearance of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Christ Jesus, to two children, in the town of La Salette, France. Each window has a scene that relates part of the story of how two shepherd children had met and talked with Mary. The first scene shows when the children came across Mary sitting and weaping. The second scene shows when Mary stood up and talked with the children. The third scene was here final message to them before she disappeared from the plateau, Mont-sous-les-Baisses.
To reach the shrine, from I-95, leave the highway at Exit 5 and follow the blue and white signs to the shrine. Generally, go east, under the highway on Toner Blvd to a T intersection with Route 152. Take a right onto 152 and head toward Attleborough Center. In Attleborough Center, follow to Route 123, then Route 118. Follow 118 to the shrine, southeast of the center, at 947 Park Street.
The Weclome Center has an auditorium and a gift shop. The building is generally open Sunday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
