While the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association (S.R.V.W.U.A.) is a private corporation it is part of the Salt River Project which is a political subdivision of the Arizona State Government. It controls reservoirs, wells, canals and irrigation laterals in central part of the State of Arizona.
