This small kiln has had hundreds of firings which explaines the glazed bricks inside. When the temperature reaches 1300 degrees Celcius baking soda is thrown into the fire boz which formes a glaze on the pottery stacked in the chamber. Dry pine wood is used to fire the kiln because of it's excessive heat.
