TeKopahou visitor centre is built on the site of old quarry workings at the end of Ohiro Bay Parade. The area has been remodelled with an attractive building and level car parking, and a bronze sculpture of a shark, by Colin Webster-Watson c.1975, has been placed in the grounds. It is the setting off point for a brisk walk along the coast to Pari-whero (Red Rocks) and the Devil's Gate seal haul-out, great when the wind is from the south and the breakers are coming in, and it's dog friendly!
The map shows all the walking and tramping tracks in TeKopahou reserve and the circular track round Karori Reserve (entrance fee required and limited opening from Highbury).
Location Name: TeKopahou Visitor Centre, Ohiro Bay Parade
