a small pedestrian drawbridge which is also accessible to cyclists. It connects the road called Oude Sluis with the Damstraat and runs across the canal leading to the locks called Oude Sluis ("Old Locks").
Since the opening of the Beatrixsluizen, the Oude Sluis is hardly used anymore except for pleasure boats and the drawbridge hardly, if ever, opens again.
