Raynolds Bank - Canon City, CO - Converted Bank Buildings on Waymarking.com

One of Main Street's architectural treasures, the Gothic Revival style Raynold-McGee Block at 330-32 Main St. Built to house the Raynolds Bank.
Frederick raynolds owned the east half of the building and William McGee the west half, a stairway to the upper half was jointly owned. It was reported that the construction of the building was so slow because so much stone had to be cut. The foundation was of limestone, quarrieds at the penitentiary under the supervision of L.A. Allen. Contractors for the stonework of the superstructure were McAdams & Oplinger, and the walls were laid broken ashlar using pink stone from Castle Rock and other stone from areas near Canon City. The entire cornice was chisled from Brandford stone.
A 70 foot tower rose above the entrance, crowned with stone coronet inscribed " Raynolds Bank."

The building currently house apprtments and the Fraternal Order of Eagle meeting Hall.
