Sir Joseph Hobbs (1864-1938) was a prominent citizen of the state of Western Australia. He served in World War One, and had a distinguished career as an architect in the City of Perth.
This statue of Hobbs is located on the Swan River foreshore, near the intersection of Barrick St and River Side Drv. The statue consists of Hobb's torso, resting on a plinth. In total ~6m high. It is constructed of bronze and brown standstone, and was unveiled in 1940. There is very little biographical information on the statue itself. The statue is somewhat obscured by surrounding palm trees.
