Pevsner describes St Mary's House as Queen Anne, of six bays and two and a half storeys. It is constructed of red brick and has a steep two-bay pediment. There is a later 18th century doorway.

The plaque in the wall has a date built of 1707 fitting with the reign of Queen Anne. This building is quite a surprise as you walk along Cardington Road with its grand scale and appearance.
