Arizona Highway Dept 19 - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I was searching for a USGS benchmark in this vicinity, and came across this one. I came across several more of the same kind, and these seem to be used to let the adjacent property owners know where the street's right of way ends (legally). If you look at the wide view image of the mark, you'll see a 3" X 3" angle iron driven vertically into the ground next to the mark. Some of the other similar marks contain a stenciled sign indicating this is the edge of the right of way. Notice that the folks who placed this mark evidently didn't finish the job, as they normally have a date, and it's missing.
