This Gate at the Senior Center in Mountain View, California features ginkgo leaves. The gingko leaf is unique among seed plants. The leaf is fan-shaped with veins radiating out from the leaf stem. Sometimes the leaves are bifurcated.

The leaves depicted on this gate and post are an oxidized blue color. The leaves are places on a stripe on the gate that continues onto the post in the same colored stripe on tiles, making for a nice visual continuity of color.
