The font is located at the base of the tower and is surrounded by a tiled maze. The tower was restored in 1912 with the original church dating to the 16th century.
There are many church mazes in Europe but very few in this country; this maze is unique as it appears in a Parish Church. The red and black tiling of the maze sets the stone font in a sea of colour. There is a simple wooden cover in situ on the font.
